Mark Whitehead

Mark has spent 27 years working in the finance industry as a portfolio manager of a variety of investment mandates, including unit trusts and closed-end funds, investing primarily in global equities and listed infrastructure. Mark has extensive fund raising, analytical research and portfolio construction experience having managed investment portfolios for sovereign wealth funds, institutions, charities, and large private clients.

Whilst a Partner at Sarasin & Partners in London, Mark launched one of the first global dividend unit trusts of its kind as well as an agriculture focused fund, the latter designed to provide investors with access to powerful global economic food themes.

Most recently Mark ran a sustainable global equities fund for Sanlam Investments UK, targeting companies with ESG leadership to generate abnormal returns for Sanlam's insurance business.

Mark is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), is a Derivatives Representative, and has passed the CFA Institute's Certificate in ESG Investing. He holds a BA Hons in Farm Business Management from Newcastle University and grew up on a family arable and dairy farm which he helped manage.
